This is a yearly rock climbing endurance event that involves a team of two, racing between the cliff faces around Waterval Boven and doing as many climbs as you can on the first day, then climbing one route as hard as you can, in 14 hours, over 2 days.
Our objective is to bring the pros and beginners together to socialise, compete and have fun together. As in a golf match, every climber gets given a handicap based upon his or her climbing performance over the last year and other personal best performances.
Basically to win this competition, you will have to climb a lot (against your handicap) on the first day and then climb hard on the second day. A logical and fair but complicated system will be explained before the start of the competition. Read the rules!
Event program will be published on www.climb.co.za soon.
